Senescent Fibroblasts

Human neonatal fibroblasts were cultured until they reached replicative senescence.  At various stages in the aging process samples of cells were cryopreserved for use in aging studies.  Data on the growth rate of the cells and beta-gal staining (a marker of replicative senescence) are presented below.
