Immunofluorescent
staining of a cardiac myocyte. The myocyte was labeled
with an antibody to the Na/K ATPase and detected with a
secondary antibody linked to a Texas Red fluorochorme to show
the outline of the cell. The cell nucleus was labeled with
ethidium bromide. A second antibody was used to label
activated MAPK, which moves to the cell nucleus upon activation.
The MAPK antibody was detected with a secondary antibody linked
to an FITC (green) fluorochrome. The overlay of the green
FITC and the orange/red ethidium bromides gives the cell nucleus
a yellow color. |
